Clapham Common Tube station now has pictures of cats instead of ads!

We seriously couldn’t love this anymore! After raising £23,000 ($30,526) on Kickstarter the Citizens Advertising Takeover Service (C.A.T.S) have achieved their goal of replacing every single advert in a London tube station with pictures of cats!

The pictures will be up in Clapham Common underground station for the next 2 weeks if you’re lucky enough to get down them and see them!

Really Big Coin Skrekkøgle

This is our Really Big Coin. It is big because it makes other things look small when photographed next to it. Actually, it is a 20:1 replica of the EUR 50-cent, you see it being milled out here. We needed to do quite a bit of sanding, lacquering and smudging to obtain the desired look and some climbing to get into required shooting position (you need to get up real high to take good pictures). The result is a short series of photographs, attempting to visually scale down real-sized objects.

Stardust - Iconic Motels Architectural Models Anna Carey

Anna Carey focuses on architectural spaces as a medium to open up an imaginative realm for the viewer, inviting us to enter into the shadows of our stories and of collective memory. Her recent archive of iconic ‘Stardust’ motels from across Australia and the Americas present tandem versions – both as they were ‘then’, and now revamped. The artist constructs fragile cardboard architectural models, which she documents as video and photographs to express and access a psychological sensibility beyond the physical façades presented. The artifice is intensified as in a game of Chinese whispers where the original gets lost in the re-imagining imbuing her photographs with a nostalgic, cinematic reverie.
